Montanov™ 68 MB is a versatile oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier derived from 100% vegetable origin raw materials. Produced through sustainable processes and supplied under RSPO Mass Balance certification, this non-ionic glucolipid emulsifier allows formulators to create rich, stable creams with a luxurious skin feel. It belongs to the Montanov™ range of naturally derived emulsifiers that promote liquid crystal formation, helping to mimic the skin’s natural lipid barrier.

With its excellent moisturizing properties, Montanov™ 68 MB reinforces skin barrier function, reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and delivers long-lasting hydration. It is suitable for natural and organic skincare, is readily biodegradable.  ECOCERT, COSMOS compliant.

  • Natural and sustainable – 100% plant-based, RSPO MB certified, ECOCERT and COSMOS approved.

  • Moisturizing power – Forms liquid crystals that improve hydration and strengthen the lipid barrier, with proven in-vivo moisturization effects.

  • Formulation flexibility – Creates creams to thick creams with a rich, unctuous texture and excellent stability, even without additional stabilizers (if no electrolytes are present).

  • Performance – Compatible across a wide pH range (3–10) and works well with pigments, UV filters, and many active ingredients.

  • Eco-friendly choice – Readily biodegradable and aligned with green chemistry principles

  • Heat both oil and water phases to ~75 °C before emulsification.

  • Promotes lamellar liquid crystal networks for improved stability and hydration.

  • Gentle agitation during cooling enhances liquid crystal formation.

  • Pairs well with other emulsifiers (such as Montanovâ„¢ 202, Montanovâ„¢ 82, or Sensanovâ„¢ WR) to optimize texture and stability

  • Use Level: 1–5%
