LUMOROL K 5229 creates, clear, oil-based products that have good foaming properties with copious amounts of bubbles, allowing the creation of unique, innovative products.
Lumorol K is a new innovative ingredient that has gone viral for its ability to create clear, water-free formulations such as shower oils, bath oils, or bubbly blooming bath oils. Once introduced to water, a foaming, classic white emulsion is formed.
Product Benefits
LUMOROL K 5229 is soluble in any kind of oil. Our personal favorite is our Coconut Triglycerides. Even when final products contain a high amount of oil, good foaming properties can be achieved.
Applications
A water-free blend of self-emulsifying, anionic and non-ionic surfactants used to make shower oils and foaming bath oils.
When Lumorol K 5229 comes into contact with water, it instantly self-emulsifies into a milky white, oil-in-water emulsion that foams and cleanses well before rinsing off clean, even with a high oil content.

Skin Care
When made up into a foaming shower or bath product, it cleanses the skin very thoroughly, it also leaves the skin moisturized due to the high oil content leaving the skin feeling soft and conditioned.
Hair Care
For many people, it will work well as an elegant body and hair/all in one wash. For others, their hair would be best washed separately – it depends on your hair type and hair length. It can be effective to blend into shampoo formulations to make them more gentle on the hair and scalp.
Formulation Advice
SHAKE: Before pouring off your Lumorol K 5229, give it a good shake to ensure the mixture is homogeneous prior to use.
To use: Add to the oil portion and mix well. If separation occurs try the following:
- If using <40% Lumorol K 5229, adding 10.0 – 30.0% Coconut Triglycerides can reduce likelihood of separation.
- Review the polarity of the oils in your formula, increasing concentration of Lumorol K 5229 if necessary.
NOTES ON POLARITY:Â
The higher the polarity of your oils, the higher the concentration of Lumorol K 5229 you will need in your formula. Plant Seed Oils = High Polarity — Esters (Coconut Triglycerides, Lexfeel Natural, Etc.) = Low Polarity
PLEASE NOTE:
• Some essential oils such as those containing Vanillin may cause the end product to change color so Test first with a small amount before making a larger batch.
• If it is stored in cold conditions, it may sediment. This can be mixed together whilst it is warmed gently to 30°C without affecting the quality.
