What are plant cells?

Plant cells are undifferentiated “native cells” located in meristematic areas, which can be found at the tip of the roots, at the apex of the stem & in the primordial leaf. These zones are responsible for the growth of the plant.

Plant cells have two key abilities: the ability to differentiate into all cell types found in the plant & the ability to self-renew at an undifferentiated stage. Thus, plant cells are responsible for every organ formation & every differentiation resulting in the growth of the plant.

Plant cells simultaneously manage two metabolisms:

• primary metabolism, necessary for essential functions (growth, development & reproduction),

“To formulate, reserve a small portion of water to combine with the powder for dispersion and add to your cool down phase. Alternatively, you can disperse into the water phase prior to forming your emulsion, but it is best to utilize a cold process emulsifier to avoid heating the cells
The powder is easily dispersed into the formula and does not significantly affect the skin feel or the color. However, a gelling agent or emulsifier would be needed to ensure proper dispersion is maintained throughout the product’s shelf life. Strictly water-based products would result in the stem cells settling out over time.
