Our Sweet Almond Oil is a virgin, unrefined organic carrier oil expressed from the kernels of Prunus dulcis, valued in formulation for its lightweight emollient profile and high oleic and linoleic acid content.
The oil is predominantly composed of oleic acid (typically 65–75%) alongside meaningful linoleic acid (typically 18–25%), a fatty acid profile that supports its function as a skin-conditioning, barrier-supporting emollient; linoleic acid in particular is a structural component of the ceramides that make up the skin’s lipid barrier.
Formulators use sweet almond oil across facial and body oils, creams, lotions, cleansing balms, and hair and scalp care, where its moderate viscosity and fast absorption make it a versatile base or blending oil.
It has been reviewed by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel and found safe for topical use, with data showing it is practically nonirritating and non-sensitizing across a wide concentration range.
