Saponagel Q is a high-performance, plant-based liquid blend that acts as a natural oil thickening and gelling agent, transforming liquid oils and butters into rich, smooth balm textures. Versatile and easy to use, it is ideal for formulating cleansers, body and lip balms, spa treatments, hair care, baby products, and concentrated oil-based systems.

Supplied as a ready-to-use liquid, Saponagel Q enables formulators to create transparent to semi-transparent oil gels with sensory profiles ranging from honey-like flow to thick, cushiony balms—without relying on wax-heavy architectures.

This botanical gelling system is particularly effective with vegetable oils (triglycerides) and can also structure a wide range of non-polar materials, including silicones and esters. Saponagel Q may be used with butters to create rich gel textures without crystal formation, making it ideal for modern balm systems that prioritize clarity, smoothness, and stability.

  • Oils must be added slowly to avoid splitting; however, if splitting occurs, pour off non-gelled portion and mix until the gel reforms and comes back together. 

Small amounts of glycerin may be used to soften texture, while limited water (typically up to ~4%) can reduce viscosity, producing a more opaque appearance.
