Appearance: Light oil consistency and light color, almost clear, with a slight woody/floral aroma.

Antioxidants in rooibos limit free radicals, which is known to help decrease activity of the aging process. It boasts a high level of flavonoids and has several antioxidants not found in other types of tea. Zinc and alpha‐hydroxy acid levels in rooibos promote healthy skin and commonly found in formulations to help with problem skin and help tighten the skin.

Can be easily incorporated into the oil phase of your formulation.

Rooibos is valued for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. The caffeine-free Rooibos tea is low in tannins and high in minerals and antioxidant substances such as vitamin C and flavonoids. It is a unique source of the monomeric flavonoids (aspalathin, aspalalidin), and contains glucosides (nothofagin). Together these active compounds provide free-radical scavenging activity, which supports to fight signs of skin aging.

Rooibos extracts exhibit anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and soothing properties, thus, are useful cosmetic ingredients to address skin concerns such as acne or atopic dermatitis.

Rooibos is also reported to promote hair growth speed while simultaneously preventing hair loss, making it a great addition to haircare product formulations.
